Our online Media Skills Refresher course will refine and add precision to your interview skills.

It is a great way to prepare for an interview or just make sure your skills are sharp.

You will revisit some of the techniques and tricks you learnt with us and be reminded of how to develop messages that resonate and how to stay in control when faced with those tricky questions.

We’ll even look at how coronavirus has changed the media landscape.

The interactive training features videos from some of our current working journalist tutors, like Paul Brennan and Siân Jones, who may have led your original training with us. And, if you did your original media training with someone else other than Media First, you’ll probably recognise them from the telly.

Who should take this course?

If you have had media training with us before, or anyone else, then this course is for you.

We know media opportunities do not always arrive straight after a course, so we have specifically designed this training to help spokespeople stay on top of their skills and ensure they are best prepared for their time in the media spotlight.

And because it’s online and can be accessed through a mobile, tablet or PC, it’s ready when you are.

Perhaps you’ll want to do the training first thing in the morning in your dressing gown, last thing at night in your PJs, or, if you’re back in the office, maybe during your lunch break (nightclothes may be frowned upon).

Wherever and whenever you decide to do the course, the training should only take about an hour.

So, pop the kettle, make yourself comfortable and remind yourself of the skills that lead to brilliant media interviews.

And, if you want to go further, we also offer the opportunity to put your skills to the test – either face-to-face or on Zoom or Teams – with one of our current working journalist tutors.
